Have you ever seen a movie or show that just changed your life? Like all of a sudden you had a new found passion and determination from what you just witnessed? Yes, that happens to me when I watch Drop Dead Diva and I am convinced I’ll go to law school and become a fabulous attorney, but that’s not what we’re talking about here. I’m talking about the documentary “Fat, Sick, and Nearly Dead.” It follows Joe Cross, an Australian native, through his journey to take back control of his health and his weight. He makes the decision to invest in a juicer and the rest is history. After a 40-day juicing fast (yes, literally…40 days of nothing but juice) he lost the weight after being 100lbs overweight and completely reversed his bad health.
While I knew I was never going to drink nothing but juice for 40 days straight, the movie itself is incredibly inspiring and really makes you pause and think about your own health. It made me want to make changes in my life and become a healthier person. I immediately bought a juicer and it’s one of the best things I’ve ever purchased.
I have made juices with countless combinations of fruits and veggies, but this one below is my go-to green juice. I have to warn you, though, it’s not the best tasting thing the first time you try it. The flavor grows on you however, and I shortly after found myself craving it. I felt healthy and energized and like I was actually doing something good for my body. I’m a smoothie fanatic, but juicing is one of the best ways to get more vegetables in your system if you’re just getting started.
